Wolf Detlef Rohr (* 1928 in Breslau ; † May 26, 1981 ) was a German writer and literary agent who was particularly active in the 1950s.

Life

He was drafted in the last months of the Second World War and sent to southern Germany in the turmoil of the end of the war. After doing odd jobs as a forest worker and in the restaurant business, he wrote over 100 novels in various fields of trivial literature between 1951 and 1963 . He became known in particular for his planetary novels, which can be assigned to the science fiction genre and which were reissued by Erich Pabel Verlag in the 80s . As was customary at the time, Rohr wrote under different names, which often suggested the impression of American origin. Rohr's pseudonyms include Wayne Coover, Allan Reed, and Jeff Caine. Rohr's novels usually follow a simple plot and reflect the social conditions of the 1950s without reflection. After retiring from science fiction, he wrote magazine articles and popular science essays before moving into commercial advertising.
