W. Ross Adey

William Ross Adey (born January 31, 1922 in Adelaide , † May 20, 2004 ) was an Australian neuroscientist .

Adey studied biochemistry and medicine in Melbourne and Adelaide and was appointed professor of biochemistry at the University of California at Riverside in 1977 . In 1965 he was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences .

Among other things, Adey became known for his research on the effects of electromagnetic fields on human biology and the damage resulting from it. Weak EM fields should be able to have physiological effects if they meet certain parameters: the so-called Adey window .
