WBLS is an American radio broadcaster from New York . It is considered a pioneer of the Urban Adult Contemporary radio format and broadcasts on 107.5 MHz with 4.2 kW.
history
The station has had a number of callsign and ownership changes throughout its history.
The legendary New York station 98.7 Kiss FM, one of the early stations of Emmis Communications , ceased operations in 2012 and merged with its main competitor WBLS. Up until then, Kiss-FM had provided New York with "Classic Soul and R&B" for over 30 years.
2014 bought Emmis Communications WBLS and sister station WLIB on MW 1190 kHz for 131 million US dollars . Both broadcast from the Empire State Building .
