The Wachau is a passenger ship of the Austrian Danube shipping company DDSG Blue Danube GmbH , which is used in the Wachau region between Melk and Krems . In winter 2017/18 the ship was completely overhauled and the Caterpillar engines (which had been in the ship since 2002 instead of the original Deutz engines) were replaced by two Scania diesels with 635 hp each.
