FC Khatlon ( Tajik ФК Вахш Қӯрғонтеппа FK Vaxş Qurghonteppa / FK Vaxş Qūrƣonteppa) , formerly Vakhsh Qurghonteppa ( Tajik ФК Вахш FK Vakhsh , according to the English transliteration Vakhsh ) is a football club from Qurghonteppa in Tadschikistan . The club currently plays in the country's highest league, the Wysschaya League .
Founded in 1960, the club won its first national championship in 1961. He won the last big title in 2005. Completely surprisingly, in 2005 the Regar TadAZ managed to break the dominance of many years . As champions in 2005, the club qualified for the AFC President's Cup 2006 . There he reached the final of the competition, which until then meant the club's greatest international success. The 2008 season ended Vakhsh Qurghonteppa in fourth place, in 2009 the team became champions again. In 2010 the team took part in the CIS Cup , where they failed in the preliminary round after two defeats against FK Aqtöbe from Kazakhstan and FK Baku from Azerbaijan and a draw against HJK Helsinki .
