Vadim Viktorovich Zolotuchin

Vadim Viktorovich Zolotuchin ( Russian Вадим Викторович Золотухин ; English: Vadim Viktorovich Zolotuhin or Vadim Zolotukhin, born June 15, 1967 in Ulyanovsk ) is a Russian lepidopterist .

Life

After graduating from school in 1984, Zolotuchin studied biology and chemistry at the Ulyanovsk Pedagogical University. In 1988 he continued his studies at the State University of Saint Petersburg to specialize in the Chair of Entomology .

In September 1991 he became a teacher at the Ulyanovsk State Pedagogical University at the Department of Zoology and gave courses in invertebrate zoology, cell biology and genetics . He has been a lecturer since October 1999.

In December 1991 he became an aspirant at the Department of Entomology at the State University of Saint Petersburg, where he received his doctorate in 1994 with the dissertation Коконопрядообразные чешуекрылые (Lepidoptera, Lasiocampoidea) Палеарктиктики ( Lasiepocampoidea ) the candidate for the Lasiepocampoids . From August 1994 to July 1995 he had a one-year scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service at the Research Institute and Museum Koenig in Bonn , where he worked on Chinese Lasiocampidae . A three-month study visit at the same institute followed in autumn 1997 as part of a grant from the German Research Foundation .

Solotuchin deals with Palearctic and African species and genera from the families of the mother hen and spinner families, as well as the lepidopteran fauna of the central Volga region .

In addition to numerous species Zolotukhin described the genera Falcogona , Eleganteda , Gorgonella , Ammacosola , Beriola , Cheligium , Diquishia , Ectropona , Gelo , Grellada , Gufria , Hecata , Marmonna , Morongea , Nirbiana , Opisthoheza , Pachytrina , Pallastica , Pellecebra , Rotunda , Selena , Similodora , Soligena , Sonitha , Sophyrita , Theophasida and Tragoptyssa .

Dedication names

The genus Zolotuhinia and numerous species, including Mustilia zolotuhini , Racinoa zolotuhini , Ochyrotica zolotuhini , Danielithosia zolotuhini , Pseudomiltochrista zolotuhini , Olona zolotuhini and Tarsozeuzera vavizola, are named after Solotuchin .
