Arms dealers ring from Ibiza

The Waffenhändlering of Ibiza was a criminal organization by a former Polish military personnel who of Ibiza from military weapons in the civil war South Sudan moved. In July 2016, the leader of the gang and eight other members across Europe were arrested in a Europe-wide action.

Arms trade

The arms trade was carried out through a complex network of companies in France, Belgium, Great Britain and Germany. During the arrests in July 2016, people in Germany and Switzerland were also arrested.

The people are said to have moved up to 200,000 Kalashnikovs to South Sudan. They also sold rocket launchers and tanks in the country. According to media reports, the gang boss also borrowed the Gambian President Yahya Jammeh's private jet to transport arms .

Back man

The man behind the gang is a former Polish soldier. He lived a double life. In public, he acted as an economic advisor to the Prime Minister of Guinea-Bissau and had a forged diplomatic passport from the country with him. He independently declared his private luxury property on Ibiza a protected diplomatic area, put up signs and hired a private security company to protect it.

De facto, the man procured armaments of all kinds on the black market through partner companies in Germany, Belgium, Great Britain and France on the Eastern European market. He moved the weapons to South Sudan and invested the profits in Spanish real estate. He hired a Dutch gang to collect debts.

Media reported that during the same period ten other people were arrested for money laundering in Ibiza. They pointed out that the person arrested could be Pierre Konrad Dadak, a real estate agent of Polish origin and French nationality, who has been shown to have been arrested with his wife.

Investigations

There is no international arms embargo against South Sudan , but the EU has imposed one. European security authorities have been investigating the gang since 2012.
