history

On March 1, 1974, Waffensen was incorporated into the district town of Rotenburg (Wümme).

Waffensen became known nationwide as the source of the Sasser computer virus in 2004.

In Waffensen there has been a multi-generation house since 2005 , which is funded by the federal action program for multi-generation houses.
