Wah ( Punjabi واہ) is a city in Punjab , Pakistan , 45 kilometers northwest of the capital Islamabad . It is known on the one hand for a garden that is said to go back to the Mughal ruler Akbar I (Great Mughal ) in the 16th century, and for the weapons and ammunition production in an industrial complex belonging to the military, the Pakistan Ordnance Factories . But there is also cement and mechanical engineering industries on site. Important road connections run to Peshawar , Islamabad and Rawalpindi . Nearby is Wah Cantt .
history
In 2008 there was a suicide bombing outside the factory. At least 45 people died and more than 100 other people were injured. The Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan announced that the two suicide bombers were hired by them.
