The constituency of Åland (Constituency 05) is one of 13 Finnish constituencies for elections to the Finnish parliament and the President of the Republic of Finland . It includes the autonomous region of Åland . In parliamentary elections, each constituency is actually entitled to a certain number of seats in parliament, depending on the number of inhabitants. However, the Åland constituency always receives a mandate, even if its population changes. At the moment, however, the population is roughly the same as the average for one mandate in other constituencies. In parliament, the Åland elector traditionally joins the parliamentary group of the Swedish People's Party (SFP-RKP).
The constituency was formed for the parliamentary election in 1948 , before the archipelago belonged to the constituency Varsinais-Suomi .
