After most of the constituency's territory was lost in the Winter War and finally after the Continuation War , the constituency was renamed East Kymi for the 1945 election. In the parliamentary elections, each constituency is entitled to a certain number of seats in parliament, depending on the number of inhabitants, the constituency of Ostviipuri was entitled to 17 seats from 1907 to 1936, and 18 seats in 1939. The constituency of Ostkymi, in which the former residents of the constituency remained eligible to vote, provided 17 seats. From the 1948 election, the constituency of Ostkymi was combined with the constituency of West Kymi, the successor to the constituency of West Viipuri , to form the constituency of Kymi . This existed until 2011, for the 2015 election it was merged with the constituency of South Savo to form the constituency of Southeast Finland .
