The constituency of West Viipuri was from 1907 to 1939 one of initially 16, from 1936 15 Finnish constituencies for the elections to the Finnish parliament . After most of the constituency's territory was lost in the Winter War and finally after the Continuation War , the constituency was renamed West Kymi for the 1945 election. In the parliamentary elections, each constituency is entitled to a certain number of seats in parliament based on the number of inhabitants, the constituency of West Viipuri had 13 seats from 1907 to 1916, 17 seats from 1917 to 1924, 16 seats from 1927 to 1933, 17 seats in 1936 and 1939. The West Kymi constituency, in which the former residents of the constituency continued to vote, provided 15 seats. From the 1948 election, the West Kymi constituency was combined with the Ostkymi constituency, the successor to the Ostviipuri constituency , to form the Kymi constituency . This existed until 2011, for the 2015 election it was merged with the constituency of South Savo to form the constituency of Southeast Finland .
