The Dresden I constituency was a state electoral district for the state elections in Saxony in 1990 , the first state election after the re-establishment of the state of Saxony. It had constituency number 39. For the state elections in 1994 , the constituency structure was changed as a result of the district reform, and the number of constituencies was reduced from 80 to 60. The area of the constituency Dresden I became part of one of the six constituencies in the Dresden city area.
The constituency area comprised the city district East with the residential districts 302 to 381 and 501 to 511.
