The Leipzig VI constituency was a state electoral district for the state elections in Saxony in 1990 , the first state election after the re-establishment of the state of Saxony. It had constituency number 10. For the state elections in 1994 , the constituency structure was changed as a result of the district reform, and the number of constituencies was reduced from 80 to 60. The area of ​​the Leipzig VI constituency became part of one of the six constituencies in the Leipzig city area.

The constituency area comprised the city district South II with the remaining residential areas that were not already included in the Leipzig V constituency.
