Constituency Rhône II
The constituency of Rhône II (French: Deuxième circonscription du Rhône ) is a French constituency for elections to the National Assembly in the Rhône department .
General
The constituency includes parts of Lyon , especially the districts immediately north of the city center. Since 2015 the constituency has also been part of the Métropole de Lyon and is therefore not treated as part of the Rhône department in administrative matters.
For many years, center-right parties dominated until the Socialist Party took the seat in parliament in the first decade of the 21st century. In the 2017 general election, La République en Marche received a majority of the vote, following the general trend in the Rhone Valley. In 2020, the MP Hubert Julien-Laferrière was one of the 17 founding members of the new parliamentary group Écologie Démocratie Solidarité , which is from En Marche! solved.
