The Waihee Church (also known as Waihee Protestant Church ; German: Evangelical Church Waihee ) is a historic church in Waihee in the US state of Hawaii . The church was built in 1848 for the rapidly growing missionary congregation in Waihee and the surrounding area, founded by Jonathan S. Green in 1830 . The building was made of lava stone built and has a base of limestone and wood . A wooden bell tower originally towered over the building, but in 1987 the tower was removed due to storm and termite damage .

In 1868 the Waihee Church was officially assigned to the Congregation of the Kaahumanu Church in Wailuku or Kahului . Since April 21, 1994, the structure has been listed in the National Register of Historic Places as a cultural monument with the number 94000384 .
