KK Wakō ( Japanese 株式会社 和 光 , English Wako Co., Ltd. ) is a retailer in Japan based in Chūō , Tokyo Prefecture . The company was founded in 1881 by Kintarō Hattori as Hattori Tokeiten (服 部 時 計 店 , "watch shop Hattori"; today Seikō Holdings ).

Wakōs largest Depāto (Japanese department store) is located in the Ginza district of Chūō, a shopping district in Tokyo . It is famous for its luxury goods, including jewelry, china, and handbags that are sold there. There is an art gallery on the sixth floor called Wakō Hall ( 和 光 ホ ー ル ). From 1894 to 1921, the Hattori bell tower stood where the department store is today. In 1921, the Hattori bell tower was demolished to build a new one. The reconstruction was delayed because of the Great Kanto earthquake on September 1, 1923. The new tower was completed in 1932. In 1947, today's KK Wakō was founded by spinning off the retail business.

Wakō also has branches at Tokyo- Haneda Airport in Shinsaibashi and several luxury hotels in Japan.
