Walaho IV.

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Walaho IV. , Also known as Werner IV. († probably before 891), from the family of the Walahones , was count in Wormsgau after 840 . He was probably the progenitor of the Salians .

Walaho married Oda, a daughter of the Rupertian Rutpert III. (Robert III.) († before 834), Count in Wormsgau and in Oberrheingau, and Wiltrud (Waldrada) of Orleans . Oda was a sister of Guntram and Robert the Brave . On Robert III. First his sons Guntram (until 837) and Robert the Brave (until after 840) followed as counts in Wormsgau, before their brother-in-law Walaho took over the county after Robert the Brave left for the West Franconian Empire .

A likely daughter of Walaho was Wiltrud (903-933 attested), who married the Konradiner- Graf Eberhard († 902/903) from Niederlahngau and in Ortenau and was therefore probably the mother of Konrad Kurzbold .
