The Walcher von Molthein were from 1854 an Austrian noble family , from 1873 in the knighthood .

The Walcher von Molthein came from the coppersmith family Walcher zu Absam in Tyrol , who originally came from Graubünden and owned the copper works at Braitweg near Absam, and came to Vienna in their branch via Moldautein in Bohemia . From 1917 to 1964 the family owned Schloss Feldegg .

Coat of arms 1854

The coat of arms from 1854 shows a red shield, crossed by a flooded silver crossbar with a curved silver tip placed over it and reaching to the main edge. A floating iron anchor in each upper crossing. The point runs through a wall of reddish blocks along the edge of the foot with six battlements and three loopholes, out of which a double-tailed red lion, holding a green palm branch in its right paw, grows. Helmet with an open red flight, covered with a silver flooded crossbar between the red lion with the palm branch. Helmet covers: red with silver.

The coat of arms from 1873 shows a curved tip, fields 1 and 2: in red a silver wavy bar, above an iron anchor, field 3: in silver a double-tailed red lion growing out of a red battlement wall, holding a green palm branch in its right paw. Two crowned helmets, both with red and silver covers, helmet 1 (right): a red flight on the right and a silver flight on the left, covered on both sides with a corrugated beam in the opposite color, helmet 2 (left): a growing double-tailed red lion in its right paw holding a green palm branch.
