history

Hofmark Walchstadt (engraving by Michael Wening , 1701)

Walchstadt is first mentioned in 1325, when Otto the Greif sold his tithe in Walchstadt to the Munich citizen Konrad Hübschwirt. In 1380 Hans der Greif sold the village to Hans the Püttrich zu Stegen .

In the 16th century, the Munich patrician family Hundertpfund was the most important landlord in Walchstadt. In 1606 they sold their property in Walchstadt to Eustach von Toerring , who became the sole owner of the place in 1609.

From 1640 to 1681 the Barth von Harmarting family owned the Hofmark Walchstadt. Around 1700, Count Max Cajetan had the 80-year-old castle in Walchstadt demolished and built a manor on the same site, today's castle farm, which was sold in 1702 to the Polz family, who are still the owners of the farm today.

With the municipal edict of 1818, Walchstadt belonged to the Etterschlag municipality and was incorporated into the Wörthsee municipality in 1972.
