Waldemar Cimander

Waldemar Cimander (born May 27, 1955 in Ostropa ) is a former Polish football goalkeeper .

The 187 centimeter tall Cimander began his career in 1973 with Górnik Zabrze and moved to city rivals Sparta Zabrze the following year . In 1976 the goalkeeper returned to Górnik and completed 100 first division games in the following five years ; During the 1981/82 season, the Pole was not allowed to play games due to a suspension.

In the summer of 1982 Cimander moved to the German second division side Stuttgarter Kickers , where he made his debut on November 27, 1982 in a 4-1 home win over SC Freiburg . Five years later, on December 5, 1987, he played his 146th and last game for the Kickers in a 1-1 draw against 1. FC Saarbrücken . After six years in Stuttgart, the Pole went to the amateur top division club SSV Ulm 1846 in 1988 , and the following year to SV Eintracht Esslingen , where he ended his active football career in 1993.

Between 1995 and 2000, Cimander worked as a youth goalkeeping coach for the Stuttgarter Kickers, and from 2003 onwards for almost four years as a goalkeeper coach for the club's regional league team. In the second half of the 2003/04 season and during the 2005/06 season he also worked as co-trainer for the second kicker team.

Cimander's son Martin , born in 1981, has been with SG Sonnenhof Großaspach since 2000 and rose with the club from the regional league to the third division.
