Martin Cimander (born November 3, 1981 in Ostfildern ) is a German football player and coach. Cimander played for 17 years at SG Sonnenhof Großaspach and rose with the team from the regional league to the third division.

Player career

After his youth stations at Stuttgarter Kickers and VfR Heilbronn , Martin Cimander moved to SG Sonnenhof Großaspach in 2000 , which was playing in the Württemberg state league at the time . In the 2001/02 season he and his team secured the championship in the state league and rose to the Württemberg Association League . Three years later, the Großaspacher and Cimander closed the association league as first in the table and rose to the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg .

In the 2008/09 season he and Großaspach became champions in the fifth-highest division and were promoted to the Regionalliga Süd . After the restructuring of the regional leagues, Cimander played with his team in the Regionalliga Südwest from the 2012/13 season . In the 2013/14 season, SG Sonnenhof Großaspach and Cimander were champions in the regional league and qualified for the promotion games for the third division. In the promotion games, SG Großaspach prevailed 0-0 in the first leg and 1-0 in the second leg against the second team of VfL Wolfsburg ; Cimander rose with the SG Sonnenhof Großaspach for the fourth time in his career.

In May 2014, Cimander signed a new contract with SG Großaspach that was valid until 2017 and has been working as a stand-by player and assistant trainer ever since. As a player, he made his debut in the 3rd division on May 23, 2015 in the 1-0 defeat by Arminia Bielefeld when he came on for Simon Skarlatidis in the 83rd minute.

With 373 appearances across all competitions, Cimander is the record player of SG Sonnenhof Großaspach. In 2018 he joined the district league club TSV Nellmersbach.

Coaching career

He has been assistant coach at SG Sonnenhof Großaspach since the 2014/15 season, and ended this activity in 2018.
