Waldemar Josef (born October 25, 1960 in Wolfsburg ) is a German former football player who was active in the position of goalkeeper .

Career

Josef played in the youth team at VfL Wolfsburg from 1970 . He stayed with the Wolves until 1982 and moved from there to the Bundesliga for Eintracht Braunschweig . At Eintracht he was number two behind Bernd Franke . Among other things, he was in the 0:10 defeat of Braunschweig on October 11, 1984 at Borussia Mönchengladbach between the posts. After three years and 19 games in the Bundesliga, Josef was relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga with Eintracht . There he alternated with Jörg Hoßbach and played 21 more games before moving to his home club VfL Wolfsburg in the major league .
