Waldemar Wester Mayer (* 4. August 1953 in Leutkirch im Allgäu ) is a German politician of the CDU .

On July 1, 2014, he replaced Annette Schavan , who was appointed German Ambassador to the Holy See , in the German Bundestag , and was a member of the Bundestag until 2017. In the 2013 federal election he was in 18th place on the CDU state list.

The agricultural master and chairman of the Allgäu-Oberschwaben farmers' association acts as district councilor , city ​​councilor of Leutkirch and CDU chairman in Leutkirch. Until 2015, Westermayer headed the Association of Participating Communities Baden-Württemberg (VTG) on a voluntary basis . The focus of his political work is on the concerns of the Ulm constituency .

Westermayer is Protestant, married and has five children.
