Waldemar Wittmann

Waldemar Wittmann (born May 16, 1925 in Timișoara , Kingdom of Romania , † November 3, 1988 in Königstein im Taunus ) was a German economist .

Life

Wittmann was born in 1925 as a Banat Swabian . He studied business administration (Diplom-Kaufmann) and in 1954 at the University of Frankfurt with a thesis The performance of the value concept in business administration for Dr. rer. pole. doctorate and in 1957 he completed his habilitation. In 1958 he became an associate professor at the Saarland University . In 1961 he was appointed full professor for business administration at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg , where he became director of the Alfred Weber Institute for Social and Political Sciences. In 1965 he was visiting professor at Harvard University and from 1966 professor for production theory and production planning at Frankfurt University. He contributed to the introduction of activity analysis in German business administration. In 1970 he co-founded the Federation of Freedom of Science (BFW).
