The Böthchen is an approximately 1.00 km² forest area in the Eastern Ore Mountains northwest of the town of Dippoldiswalde.

geography

The Böthchen is located on the territory of the city of Dippoldiswalde . Adjacent villages are Malter in the east, Paulsdorf in the north and Berreuth in the west. The natural border of the forest forms the Tännichtgrund with Reichstädter Bach in the south, the Malter dam in the east , the Lämmergrundbach in the north and the Galgenwiese in the west. It is between 334  m above sea level. NHN and 401.1  m above sea level NHN .

history

The name of the forest area is associated with Böthchen Castle, which was mentioned in the 14th century south of Borthenberg. On the maps by Matthias Öder 1586–1607 the forest is drawn as Dippoldiswalder Gemeinholz and Raths Holz. The Berlin miles sheets name it in 1785 as the Bethgen and the Schwarzborn is mentioned. In 1845 it was written as Bödichen, in 1912 as Böthchen. In 2009 the adventure and high ropes course “Sherwood Forest” opened in the north-eastern forest near Paulsdorf. In the summer of 2017, 20,500 beech trees and 1,250 silver fir trees were planted as ecologically valuable tree species under the protective umbrella of old spruce trees.

Attractions

Above the Lämmergrund near the settlement of Mühlefeld near Paulsdorf is the sandstone-encased Schwarzborn spring from which the Schwarzborn rises and flows into the Lämmergrundbach approx. 50 meters below.

ways

The way to school begins on the road to Dippoldiswalde (Talsperrenstraße) near Paulsdorf, crosses the Schwarzbornweg and runs above the Tännichgrund to Berreuth. The Schwarzbornweg begins on the Talsperrenstraße, crosses the school path and runs to the Schwarzborn spring. A lane, which has always been developed as a forest path, goes into the forest above Mühlefeld, crosses the Schwarzbornweg and joins a forest path at the Galgenwiese.
