Waleed Al-Husseini (born June 25, 1989 in Qalqiliya ) is a Palestinian essayist , writer and blogger .

In October 2010, the Palestinian Authority arrested him for allegedly blasphemy against Islam on Facebook and in blog posts. His arrest attracted international attention.

He later fled to France , where he successfully applied for asylum and in 2013 founded the French branch of the Central Council of Ex-Muslims . In 2015 he published his experiences in the book Blasphémateur! Les prisons d'Allah (The prisons of Allah).
