Valentin Chistyakov

Valentin Chistyakov ( Russian Валентин Чистяков ., English transcription Valentin Chistyakov; * 1. November 1939 in Rostov-on-Don ) is a former Soviet hurdler .

He finished sixth over 110 m hurdles at the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome. In 1961 he won the Universiade , and in 1962 he was fifth at the European Athletics Championships in Belgrade . At the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 1964, he was disqualified in the semifinals.

At the European Indoor Games he won silver in the 50m hurdles in Prague in 1967 and was sixth in Madrid in 1968 .

He set his personal best over 110 m hurdles of 13.7 s on June 15, 1968 in Riga .

He is married to the sprinter Natalja Tschistjakowa . Their son Viktor Tschistjakow was successful as a pole vaulter.
