Valentinovich Novoshilov

Walentin Walentinowitsch Novoschilow , Russian Валентин Валентинович Новожилов , English transcription Valentin Valentinovich Novozhilov, (born May 18, 1910 in Lublin , † June 14, 1987 in Leningrad ) was a Soviet engineer.

Novoshilov studied at the Leningrad Polytechnic. He completed his studies in 1931 and then worked in various research institutes in Leningrad, and from 1949 in the shipbuilding institute. In 1945 he became a professor at the Leningrad State University .

He dealt with theories of shells and nonlinear elasticity theory.

In 1958 he became a corresponding and in 1966 a full member of the Soviet Academy of Sciences . In 1969 he became a hero of socialist labor and in 1984 he received the Lenin Prize .
