Valery Nikolayevich Karasev ( Russian Валерий Николаевич Карасёв23. September 1946 in Moscow , Russian SFSR , Soviet Union ) is a former Russian -sowjetischer gymnast .

Athletic career

Valeri Karasjow belonged to the Soviet squad at the Olympic Games in Mexico City in 1968 at the age of 22 and won the silver medal together with Mikhail Voronin , Sergei Diomidow , Viktor Klimenko , Viktor Lisitsky and Valeri Ilyinych .

At the World Championships in Dortmund in 1966 , Karassjow was runner-up with the Soviet team. Four years later he was again runner-up with the Soviet team at the 1970 World Championships in Ljubljana .

Private

Karassjow was married from 1966 to 1976 with the Russian gymnast and Olympic champion from 1968 Olga Karassjowa .
