In his will of August 16, 1690, Felix Gundacker von Auerbach determined that this Laurethan Chapel should be his right and only universal heir . His fortune should be monetized and put in a safe place and from it a pious godly and exemplary secular clergyman should be employed. The benefit was assigned to the parish of Gangkofen . This benefice still exists today, but is no longer staffed with a priest.

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary, the chapel was extended to the south with the addition of the Holy Cross or Speiskapelle.
