Wallis Passage

The Wallis Passage is a strait in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It runs north-south and separates Aspland Island in the west from Gibbs Island in the east.

The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 2018. It is named after Derek A. Wallis of the Royal Navy , captain of the HMS Endurance in the Joint Services Expedition to the Elephant Island Group (JSEEIG, 1976–1977)
