The A461 as the main traffic axis runs from Lichfield in the north via Walsall Wood to Walsall and further south to Stourbridge .

Walsall Wood no longer has a passenger train station. The station Walsall Wood was on the Midland Railway in 1884 on the railway line from Aldridge opened. This station was closed in 1930.
