Waltenegus Dargie
Waltenegus Dargie (born May 24, 1969 in Neghelle Borena , Ethiopia ) is an Ethiopian-German computer scientist and author. He has published several novels as well as philosophical and technical books.
Live and act
Dargie was the son of a military doctor and has six siblings. Because of the father's occupation, the family often changed their place of residence before settling in Neghelle Borena. Dargie attended a German-Lutheran elementary school and then the Junier High School and passed the Ethiopian school leaving examination in 1987. This was followed by a degree in electrical engineering at Kotobe College of Teachers Education (now Kotobe Metropolitan University ), where he received the Prize for Poem of the Year in 1988.
After graduating with a Diploma in June 1989, Dargie moved to Tepi, where he taught at Tepi High School . In a lecture at the Institute for English and American Studies at the Technical University of Dresden , Dargie explained that he spent a large part of his time in Tepi reading philosophical books and - after being an atheist - became a Christian in 1992 .
In 1994, Dargie quit teaching and studied electrical engineering and electronics at Nazareth Technical College (aka Adama University ). In 1997 he received a bachelor's degree with distinction. In the same year he entered the Defense Engineering College in Debre Zeit as an assistant lecturer . Three years later he moved to Germany to obtain a master's degree in electrical engineering at the University of Kaiserslautern . He completed his studies in 2002 and then worked from 2002 to 2005 as a research assistant in the electrical engineering / computer science department at the University of Kassel .
In 2006 Dargie received her doctorate magna cum laude from the computer science faculty of the TU Dresden , where he is a research assistant at the chair for computer networks. In 2010 he completed his habilitation at the TU Dresden, where he works as a private lecturer .
