Walter Brosius

Walter Brosius (born October 9, 1902 in Hamburg ; † December 22, 1973 there ) was a German politician ( FDP ).

Life and work

Brosius was a businessman by trade. During the National Socialist era , he joined the liberal resistance group around Friedrich Ablass , camouflaged as the Verein der Hafenfreunde , which later referred to itself as the Freie Hamburg group.

Political party

In September 1945, Brosius was one of the founders of the Free Democrats party , which later became the Hamburg regional association of the FDP . In December 1949 he helped found the Democratic Circle , in which the left wing of the Hamburg FDP met.

MP

When he was elected to Hamburg citizenship in 1949, he was elected to parliament in the Hoheluft-West constituency , to which he was a member until 1957. At the same time he was also a member of the Eimsbüttel district assembly , to which he later belonged again from 1961 to 1970.
