Walter Busch (veterinarian)

Walter Busch (born July 23, 1932 in Haselbach ; † April 10, 2020 ) was a German veterinarian.

Life

He studied veterinary medicine. In 1957 he received his doctorate from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the Karl Marx University in Leipzig and then worked as a practicing veterinarian. In 1959 Walter Busch became a scientific assistant at the Veterinary Clinic for Obstetrics and Reproductive Disorders at the Humboldt University in Berlin , where he worked as a senior assistant until his habilitation in 1965. In 1966 he received a lectureship and from 1969 he worked as a specialist veterinarian for swine diseases. In 1972 Walter Busch became associate professor and in 1974 head of the above-mentioned veterinary clinic for obstetrics and reproductive disorders in Berlin . After German reunification in 1993, he was appointed professor in the veterinary medicine department of the Free University of Berlin .

He retired in Borsdorf , where he celebrated the diamond wedding in December 2016 .

He was a member of the Friends of Veterinary Medicine of the Veterinary Faculty of the University of Leipzig eV For several years he was one of the editors of the series of journals Veterinary Practice. Small animals / pets .
