Walter Craig Kerr

Walter Craig Kerr (born November 8, 1858 in St. Peter , Minnesota , † May 8, 1910 in Rochester , Minnesota) was an American entrepreneur.

Life

Craig Kerr's parents were Aaron H. Kerr and Elisabeth, b. Craig. From 1875 he studied at Sibley College and graduated in 1879 as BME 1879/80 he was there lecturer in mechanical engineering (more precisely: Mechanic arts ) and 1880-82 junior professor.

He then came into contact with George Westinghouse and they founded Westinghouse, Church, Kerr & Co. , whose last direction he was. Initially it was a sales agency for the Westinghouse Machine Company. From around 1902 they built and operated electric railways in the United States. He designed the Union Depot in Boston.

In 1890 he was elected to the University's Board of Trustees. In 1883 he married Lucy Lyon from Ithaca, with whom he had three daughters and a son.
