Walter Georg

Walter Georg (born April 28, 1943 in Standorf ) is a German educator.

Life

He studied economics, education (professional and business education), sociology and psychology at the Universities of Göttingen , Saarbrücken and Darmstadt . He earned his diploma in 1969 ( diploma commercial teacher ), 1970 the Magister Artium and 1974 promotion to Dr. phil. in Darmstadt. From 1970 to 1976 he was a research assistant at the chair for vocational education at the TU Darmstadt . From 1976 to 1977 he was scientific advisor and professor for business education at the University of Hamburg . From 1977 to 2008 he taught as a university professor (C4) for vocational and business education at the Open University in Hagen .

His main research interests are comparative vocational training research (focus: Japan and East Asia); Occupation and qualification research; Processes of institutionalization of professional qualification; Organizational development and qualification structure, training and career paths and vocational training in development cooperation.
