Walter Gschwandtner

Walter Gschwandtner (* 1956 in Niederneukirchen ) is an Austrian sculptor and textile artist .

Live and act

Gschwandtner studied sculpture with Erwin Reiter at the University of Artistic and Industrial Design in Linz until 1986 . He lives and works in Leonding and has been a member of the artists' association MAERZ since 1984 , where he actively participated in the association's activities in the mid-1990s.

He is active as the spokesman for the Narrenschyff cultural initiative, which he launched in 2010 together with Elke Sackel and Herbert Christian Stöger . Since 1982 he has presented his work in solo and group exhibitions and in symposia.

Between 2006 and 2010, Gschwandtner organized the “ Schöner Ring” work days in Wilhering, and in 1994, 2003 and 2009 worked on the international exhibitions as part of the International Textile Symposium Graz . Between 2001 and 2008 he worked on setting up a private school.
