The afo architekturforum oberösterreich (short: afo ; until 2017: Architekturforum Oberösterreich ) is an architecture center founded in Linz in 1994 , which sees itself as a platform for the diverse communication of contemporary architecture and building culture with exhibitions, lectures and excursions. Since 2003, the Architecture Forum established in the 1926, designed by the City Planning Director Curt Kühne built Linzer soup kitchen .
activities
In addition to the conception and implementation of exhibitions, symposiums and excursions, the activities of the non-profit association also include holding and accompanying competitions, the continuous expansion of an online construction database, and research and publications with a focus on architecture and urban development in Upper Austria in the 20th and 21st centuries. Century. The afo is a member of the Austrian Architecture Foundation and is subsidized by the Federal Chancellery Section Culture, the State of Upper Austria, the Chamber of Architects and Engineering Consultants for Upper Austria and Salzburg and the City of Linz.
