Leo Schatzl

Leo Schatzl (* 1958 in Obernberg am Inn ) is an Austrian artist .

Life

After attending grammar school in Ried im Innkreis , Schatzl studied visual design with Laurids Ortner and metal design with Hellmuth Gsöllpointner at the Art University Linz . After completing his studies in 1987, he worked as a freelance artist, among others in cooperation with the Stadtwerkstatt in Linz , the Kunstraum Freihaus in Vienna and the artist collective Time's Up . Since 1992 he has also been teaching at the Art University Linz.

His artistic work includes interdisciplinary room installations, art in public spaces, object design and imaging media.

Schatzl lives and works in Linz and Vienna.
