Norbert Artner (artist)

Norbert Artner (born November 5, 1963 in Linz ) is an Austrian artist .

Life

Artner studied in the metal master class at the Art University Linz , which he graduated in 1994 and where he has also taught as a lecturer since 1995. He designed numerous art catalogs for the Lentos Art Museum Linz and the Linz City Museum Nordico .

In his artistic work, Artner deals with issues relating to art production, among other things. For example in his series Studios , in which he has been concerned with the production conditions of the visual arts since 2008. He is also interested in the different working methods of the artists, the atmospheric effect of their studios and the experimental character of the locations.

In his current PhD research project, After the Pictures , Artner also pursues the production of artistic photography. The focus of his interest are the artistic strategies of the image producers in dealing with the resistance of vision, apparatus and apparatus functions as well as image.

Artner lives and works in Linz.
