Walter Heinzinger

Walter Heinzinger (born January 18, 1937 in Graz ; † January 27, 1993 in Vienna ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and general secretary of the ÖAAB . Heinz Inger was 1972-1979 member of the Bundesrat and 1979-1993 Member of the National Council .

Life

After attending compulsory school, Heinzinger learned the trade of druggist and then worked as a sales manager in the furniture industry. From 1963 he worked as advertising manager for the Austrian publishing house Graz and from 1975 he was the secretary general of the ÖAAB.

Heinzinger was politically active between 1965 and 1972 as regional chairman of the Young People's Party in Styria and between 1969 and 1972 he also held the function of federal deputy chairman of the JVP. He then took over the office of provincial chairman for private employees at ÖAAB Styria between 1973 and 1978 and was then regional chairman of ÖAAB Styria from 1978. In addition, from 1980 he was a member of the listeners 'and viewers' representatives of the ORF, from 1980 to 1985 he was spokesman for the ÖVP on natural and environmental issues and a member of the Economic Council of the Austrian Federal Forests. He also headed the Austrian Society for Ecology as chairman from 1984.

Heinzinger represented the ÖVP from February 11, 1972 to May 31, 1979 in the Federal Council and was a member of the National Council from June 5, 1979 to January 27, 1993.
