Walter Intemann (born December 11, 1944 in St. Gallen ) is a former Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and businessman. From 1979 to 1989 he was a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament .

education and profession

After finishing elementary and secondary school, Intemann attended the Bregenz Commercial Academy and graduated from there in 1963 . He then studied from 1963 to 1967 at the University of World Trade in Vienna and graduated in 1967 with an academic degree in business administration. In 1969 he also obtained his doctorate in social and economic sciences (Dr. rer. Soc. Oec.) In Vienna. From 1969 to 1971, Intemann worked as a marketing and sales manager at a Lustenau machine factory, after which he worked in business consulting in Germany in 1972. From 1973 to 1984 he was the managing director of the Frastanz brewery cooperative, and from 1984 to 1988 he worked in investment consulting in Vienna and Poland. He then worked from 1989 to 1999 in the management of the Rezi GmbH company in Bregenz and took over the company in 1999, which he then moved to Lustenau .

Politics and functions

Intemann joined the Junge Wirtschaft in 1975 and was chairman of the Vorarlberg regional organization of the Junge Wirtschaft between 1976 and 1977. He was also a member of the Austrian People's Party and the Austrian Economic Association and acted between November 20, 1979 and October 23, 1989 as a member of the Feldkirch electoral district in the Vorarlberg state parliament. He was area spokesman for economic issues of the ÖVP state parliament club and in his second state parliament period he was chairman of the energy policy committee and deputy chairman of the economic committee. He was also a member of the state party leadership of the ÖVP Vorarlberg during his time as a member of parliament . In terms of local politics, he was a substitute member of the municipal council of Lustenau from 1980 to 1985.

Intemann also worked as a member of the board of the food and luxury food industry and was a board member of the Vorarlberg Federation of Industry. In terms of sport, he was the president of the Lustenau tennis club and the president of the Bodensee-Weißensberg golf club.

Private

Walter Intemann was born the son of the entrepreneur Walter Erwin Intemann, whereby his father died at the front in the war year 1944. His mother, Marianne Intemann, née Steindl from Vienna, had to raise her son on her own. Walter Intemann married Birgit Riedmann in 1966 and had one son in 1967 and 1972 respectively.
