Walter Jarrek

Walter Jarrek (born January 31, 1903 in Gelsenkirchen ; † July 26, 1974 there ) was a German politician ( KPD ).

Jarrek was a miner and welder. He joined the KPD and became a union and party secretary. In 1933 he became a member of the Provincial Parliament of Westphalia for the constituency of Bochum . After the seizure of power by the Nazis, he was in 1934, held prison and concentration camps until 1941 in prison.

After the end of the Second World War , Walter Jarrek was one of the founding members of the KPD. Together with other KPD functionaries such as Fritz Rische , Josef Ledwohn , Max Reimann , Max Schäfer and Willi Perk , he helped rebuild the KPD organization in the Ruhr area.
