Walter Loosli

Walter Loosli (born July 29, 1932 in Sonvilier in the La Chaux-d'Abel district; † November 29, 2015 in Köniz ) was a Swiss sculptor , glass painter and designer of church windows.

Life

Loosli trained as a primary school teacher and remedial teacher in Bern. He then completed further training at the Bern School of Applied Arts . He learned drawing from Hans Schwarzenbach and Max Rudolf von Mühlenen . He learned sculpture from Salvatore Meli in Rome.

Loosli has worked as a freelance artist since 1972. His main activity was the design of rooms, especially churches.

Walter Loosli lived in the municipality of Köniz from 1954 until his death, where he ran a gallery.
