Walter Mantegazza , full name Walter Daniel Mantegazza Gonzàlez , (born July 17, 1952 in Montevideo , † June 20, 2006 ibid) was a Uruguayan football player .

society

The 1.70-meter-tall, attacking midfielder Mantegazza played for Nacional Montevideo until 1974 . In 1972 he won the Copa Interamericana 1971 with the Bolsos . In the 1974/75 season he was then as well as in the two subsequent seasons in Mexico with Club León under contract and scored 16 goals for that club during this period. Another station followed in Mexico at UANL Tigres . From 1977 to 1979 he played 66 games in the Primera División and scored 25 goals. With Tigres he was Mexican champion of the 1977/78 season.

National team

Mantegazza was a member of the senior national team of Uruguay , for which he completed ten international matches between March 23, 1974 and June 23, 1974. He scored an international goal. Mantegazza took part in the 1974 World Cup with Uruguay . There he was used in all three group matches during the competition .
