Walter Priesnitz

Walter Priesnitz (born April 1, 1932 in Hindenburg ; † August 26, 2012 in Neuharlingersiel ) was a German lawyer and administrative officer .

Priesnitz was born the son of a banker. After graduating from high school, he first completed an apprenticeship as a banker. He then took up a law degree, which he completed in 1955 with the first state examination. In 1959 he passed the second state examination; 1961 followed the doctorate to the Dr. jur. As a student he became a member of the Catholic student union K.St.V. Borussia-Königsberg to Cologne in the KV . Priesnitz embarked on a civil service career, from 1959 to 1971 Priesnitz worked in two federal ministries, most recently as a government director. From 1971 to 1975 he was chief district administration director of the district administration of North Friesland and from 1975 to 1985 city director in Ahlen .

In 1985, Priesnitz moved to the Federal Ministry for Internal German Relations as a ministerial director , where he served as permanent state secretary from 1988 to 1991 . From 1991 to 1996 he was a permanent state secretary in the Federal Ministry of the Interior and from 1996 to 1999 chairman of the management of Bodenverwertungs- und -verwaltungs GmbH (BVVG) in Berlin. Until August 24, 2010 he was chairman of the company's supervisory board. He was also chairman of the Jakob Kaiser Foundation
