Walter Reicher
Walter Reicher (born July 2, 1958 in Kleinpetersdorf , Burgenland ) is an Austrian cultural manager and festival director.
Life
Walter Reicher studied commercial science at the WU Vienna and theater studies at the University of Vienna . From 1985 he worked for three years as assistant to the director of the Museum of Modern Art in Vienna. Reicher was a co-founder and lecturer at the Center for Culture and Management (ICCM Salzburg) (1988–2002).
Since 1988 he has been director of the Burgenland Haydn Festival / International Haydn Festival in Eisenstadt Haydn Festival , his contract runs until 2020. Since 1993 Reicher has also been Secretary General of the International Joseph Haydn Private Foundation in Eisenstadt.
Awards
- 1996 Silver Medal of Honor for Services to the Republic of Austria
- 1999 Gold Cross of Merit for services to the state capital of Freistadt Eisenstadt
- 2009 Awarded the professional title of Professor
- 2014 Commander's Cross of the Province of Burgenland
