Walter Robert Corti
Walter Robert Corti (born September 11, 1910 in Dübendorf ; † January 12, 1990 in Winterthur ) was a Swiss philosopher and publicist .
Corti was the son of Arnold Corti and the Helene Corti tribe. His brothers were Ulrich Arnold Corti and the industrialist Wilhelm Corti-Gafafer (* 1907).
After he had dropped out of medical studies due to illness, he was editor of the Swiss cultural magazine Du from 1942 to 1957 . In it he published an appeal that led to the foundation of the Pestalozzi Children's Village in Trogen AR in 1945 .
In 1957 he was made an honorary doctorate from the University of Tübingen . In 1970 he received the City of Winterthur Culture Prize and in 1980 the Carl Heinrich Ernst Art Prize . Corti was close friends with the pediatrician Marie Meierhofer .
The estate of Walter Robert Corti is in the Zurich Central Library . Corti found his final resting place in the Fluntern cemetery .
